Charles Blackman was Born 1928, his Birth Place was Harbord, New South Wales, Australia

Charles Blackman over the years travelled to England 1961-66; England, Europe, USA 1968; France 1970-71; Japan 1973; France 1975, 1981; Europe 1985

Charles Blackman studied drawing when living in Sydney NSW.

Charles Blackman is self-taught as a painter printmaker, Artist (painter), Artist water-colourists), Drawer.

Charles married Barbara Blackman, during this time he mostly worked in Australia (VIC), QLD, and NSW.

When Charles moved to Melbourne in 1950 he shortly after decided to study lithography at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in 1953 and produced about 12 lithographs. These are monotypes from c.1957. Since 1967 he has produced series of screen prints, etchings and lithographs, all of which have been commercially released Limited Editions.

Charles Blackman produced many loved Paintings, Etchings, Lithographs, Silkscreen artworks during his career, Etching House collects trades a and sells a range of fine art by Charles Blackman.

1943-46 Studied East Sydney Technical College

1945-60 lived and painted in Melbourne

1950s Painted Schoolgirl series, followed by Alice in Wonderland series

1960-64 Travelled and studied overseas after winning Helena Rubinstein Scholarship

Lived and painted in London, exhibited at Whitechapel and Tate Galleries

1965 Tour of northern France and Flanders

1966-74 lived and painted in Sydney

1975 Occupied Australian studio, Cite Internationale des Arts, Paris

1976-2001 Lived and painted in NSW, Queensland, WA.

Currently lives in Sydney
